May Kelly's Cottage Logo

Background

May Kelly’s Cottage is a beloved traditional Irish pub in the heart of Mount Washington Valley. The seasoned restaurateur owners are close personal friends of ours, and we’ve teamed up with them on all sorts of projects over the years, including creating retail merchandise, running their online store where we printed, fulfilled, and shipped orders, to building, hosting, and maintaining their website.

The Challenge

Each year, May Kelly’s hosts a big fundraising gala dinner for Stephanie’s Bluebird Foundation with a super popular bucket raffle, where friends, family, patrons, and even vendors pitch in by donating awesome prizes. We’ve got a long tradition of crafting special, May Kelly’s-branded goodies for the event. Up until now, the May Kelly’s logo has been the star of the show on all the merch, but we wanted to kick things up a notch. The original logo (check it out below) was sketched by hand on a napkin. Our mission was twofold: first, get that logo into a format we could work with (vector), and second, dream up some fresh, never-before-seen designs to wow everyone.

Our Solution

We started by vectorizing the original May Kelly’s logo, which we then used on a range of products, including a standout hooded sweatshirt with a built-in koozie pocket. From there, we created brand-new designs from scratch, including some inspired by Guinness, to print on apparel. Our aim was to stay true to the classic look and feel of the May Kelly’s logo while giving it a modern twist and crafting exclusive, limited-edition merchandise to tempt gala attendees into buying and tossing more raffle tickets into the buckets.

The Results

As always, the event was a huge hit, and the merchandise we crafted for the raffle prizes stole the show. It was a prime example of how we can take something simple and transform it into a must-have product.
